It's an honor and a privilege to be selected to carry on the torch of this league.  We have a great collection of original owners with some new owners that are VERY active.  In the 4 years preceding this one, around year 2 or 3 the league became a lot less active, but with this new influx of owners along with the diehards that have been here since the beginning including Ahmed, Anthony, James, David, I think this league has the potential to be a fun and competitive league for years to come.

A little about myself, I played baseball and majored in accounting at UConn, class of 96, became a CPA for a regional accounting firm after graduation but after 5 years of running other peoples' companies I decided to buy out a Title Insurance Company, restructure it, and grow it.  Being self-employed has given me some certain luxuries of having a lot of computer time when the real estate market is not popping, so you will always have my undivided attention as you did Ahmed and Kirk before him.  I own 18 teams, 14 of them keepers, but I do not run a ton of leagues just 3, so answers to questions or problems should be swift as well as trades processed very fast.  Anthony and I have run a 14 team local league for what has to be 12 years now, and we recently restructured it to local players that draft at my home and certain online players that draft online in real-time that we have the best relationships with and are the most respected and active owners.   This was our first year on the MyFantasyLeague website which is quite different from CBS which is a piece of crap J

I also run a company that hold a ton of Personal Seat Licenses, all in prime locations for the new Giants Stadium.  Per contract you have to keep the tickets in your name for the first year, then I will be forming an LLC, perhaps we can have a contest for who can come up with the best name for the company, winner gets a pair of tickets?

I have been with Kirk for a long time, and met Ahmed in this league.  Both are super guys who will prove to have big shoes to fill.  That's why I approached Kirk back in August with Ahmed's permission and asked him as a favor if we can still come back to the GLFFL.  He said absolutely, but just this league.  As you know he has been shedding leagues every year and he recently took a new job that required relocating the family so he is trying to shed more leagues.  But the agreement is I will run the league, but we will still use the GLFFL rules and Board of Directors for trade disputes.  Plus this league gets marketed under the glffl.net website so if we are unfortunate to lose an owner we have extra exposure.

When Ahmed came in, he said it was "your league".  We initiated some positive changes like decimal scoring instead of ranges, and points per receptions.  I am always open for new ideas that anyone thinks will make the league unique.  But also "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".  The one rule that has always been a rule except for year #2 was the 1 Giant per team requirement.  That's why rosters were originally made 18 instead of the standard 16 at the time.  Anyway, we have all off season to spit ball ideas.  I don't intend on raising the fees unless the whole league unanimously wants to.  Last year we changed our local league to $150 to attract more owners, but by the end of the season we had a 13-0 vote to increase it back to $200, so you never know.  There will be no material changes without the league approving it.

During the course of the season I will email each of you separately just to talk shop and get your input and thoughts of the league on a one on one basis.

Also are there a lot of owners on facebook?  Perhaps we can start a fan group where everyone can meet, talk strategy, a little smack, and get to know each other better.  The best leagues I am in are the ones that there is the most communication not just of trade offers, but of personalities, their line of work, family etc.

I am very excited to take the ball and run with it.  The only thing I have to do is make sure I open a merchant account on paypal for trades involving future draft picks.  I have always operated by check because it was a local league....well mostly cash, but now that I have gone interstate, I have to have a second option for everyone.

Good luck everyone this year.  I see a lot of lower teams from last year get much better and some of the good ones.......MINE, get significantly worse...haha, but that is what makes a dynasty league fun.....can you build a winner and KEEP it a winner.
